NRF 2019 once again took place at the Jacob K Javits Convention Centre in New York and again it was a feast of all things retail, retail technology this time sprinkled with a little fairy dust in the form of two memorable store visits (scroll down to find out more!).

Here is a round-up in pictures:

 Busy sessions, great keynotes

Once again the Innovation Lab proved very popular, an indicator of the state of retail

NCR shared the next generation self service checkout, computer vision & AI deterring thieves

Great to see a fantastic British brand so prominent #Shop Direct

Sadly this was an all too familiar sight; NRF need to do better but Jacob Javits refurb lasts until 2020!

McDonald Butler Monday night party was once again the place to be after dark

Press reception with Matthew Shay at Nordstrom men’s store, remembering Blake Nordstrom

The Brazilians making their presence felt!

Welcome addition was the Girl’s Lounge. Couldn’t agree more

Natalie Berg spells it out pretty clearly

Anyone for robotic shopping mall information?

Deloitte’s Ira Kalish discussing the state of the (retail) nation with Natalie Berg: “When the tide goes out you get to see who’s swimming naked”

Nike House of Innovation on 5th Avenue is an example to all retailers aspiring to create wonderful, memorable, personalised experiences

Bespoke, personalised trainers designed by you, made by Nike within the hour

Freshippo (the new name for Hema) stole the Show for many observers, a real glimpse at the future of commerce

Amazon had a modest presence in the form of aws however, the press weren’t welcomed. Curious.

Main keynote stages always had room, not so some of the others unfortunately

A trip to Manhattan mid-town was well worth it just to visit Starbucks Roastery, a sensory explosion

A visit to the Doddle pop-up demonstrated the way delivery & returns are taking

In just a few years, Aptos have grown into a major player and had a presence at NRF to match

The Innovation Lab was packed as ever

Despite the ongoing building works, in the New York sunshine, Jacob javits Convention Centre was looking good

Self service checkouts are about to get a whole lot smarter thanks to NCR

1,000 press from all around the world attended NRF and when a free lunch was provided they all descended on the press room!

Innovation in the Starbucks Roastery combined to create a multi-sensory and wonderful experience

A quick look behind the scenes at an NRF keynote

Sad, eerie, moving. Ground Zero memorial is a place for quiet contemplation and rounded off our trip to New York in a most perfect way.
